Karen is a yoga teacher based in Horwich, Bolton. She has a passion for helping students to find simple ways they can create a sense of ease and space in their mind and body through yoga; a place of inner stillness.

Yoga is an experiential journey of self-inquiry, increasing your flexibility, strengthening your body and calming your mind. Everybody can do Yoga. You don’t need to be super fit, bendy or able to touch your toes, come and explore the change yoga can make to your life.

 

Come and Join Us

Our yoga classes are small, friendly, relaxed and fun. All students are of mixed ability, from beginners to experienced practitioners. There is no need for trendy yoga gear, just wear loose clothing. Non-bendy students are especially welcome.

Socially distanced Group Classes are offered in blocks.  Limited drop in spaces may be available.

A slow and mindful flowing style that sequences postures in a creative and fluid rhythm exploring postural alignment in key poses to improve functional flexibility, strength and balance. Everyone is encouraged to have fun and explore poses.

Students learn asana (poses) breathing techniques and relaxation.  Poses are offered for beginners and more challenging levels.

Class limited to 8 students.  Places must be pre-booked. Students are asked to bring their own mats and blocks.

Yoga is a process of self-inquiry and the responsibility lies with you to listen to your body, and breathing.  If you have any medical issues kindly contact me directly before joining class.. (Not suitable for pregnant students)

For those who like a slower pace, this is a gentle class with an emphasis on releasing and nourishing the joints, and back care.  Practice self-care and take some time for you.  Connect to your breath and body, let go of stress. With a focus on alignment and breath, this practice features a nice tempo to listen to your body and find what feels good.

Perfect for beginners and seniors or those returning to yoga.

Before Your Class.

  1. Set up your yoga mat and any props in a quiet space
  2. Set up your computer or phone, somewhere you can be seen as if taking a selfie.  Check that you can be seen, lying, sitting and standing.
  3. Make sure your computer or phone is fully charged.
  4. You can join the class 10 minutes, before the start to get yourself settled.
  5. Classes will start promptly

Yin is a practice that is the perfect balance to the Yang of our fast-paced life.  It’s a meditative slow-paced style of yoga with longer held postures designed to release tension deep in the muscles and connective tissue.  It’s a perfect compliment to our dynamic yang style of yoga.  These mindful, meditative and deep workshops are suitable for anyone needing to make space and time to breathe deeply, reconnect with their bodies and still their minds

Beginning with an overview of Yin, and its benefits.  We will explore  the three tattvas of Yin practice:

  • Coming into the pose at the appropriate depth, playing your edge.
  • Resolving to remain still
  • Holding the pose for a period of time.

In this workshop, we will hold floor poses for 3-5 minutes as a way to gently stretch the tight tissues in our bodies and help release Inviting the silence and stillness of a passive Yin practice, we will work through the distractions and discomfort of our minds and bodies. aches and pains in our spine, hips, knees, ankles, and shoulders.

Each workshop will have different content and follow a theme to support an aspect of our bodies and minds relevant to the time of year or season. Suitable for all levels and a great complement to a more dynamic practice.

We will conclude our practice with a lovely guided meditation.  Kindly bring along your yoga mat, a blanket, and cushion for your comfort.

Places are limited to 8 students.  Booking essential.
